220. Why I don’t assess posture anymore, with Raphael Bender

- Thoracic kyphosis is not related to abdominal strength or endurance here
- Lumbar lordosis and pelvic tilt are not related to abdominal strength here
- Abdominal and hip muscle flexibility only explains 9% of the variance in thoracic posture here
- AND longer glutes and hamstrings are associated with LESS pelvic tilt here
- Hip and spine stiffness are not related to lumbar lordosis here
- BUT… You CAN change posture with exercise (particularly strengthening exercises) here
- No evidence any particular posture causes pain here
- Scapular dyskinesis is slightly more common in people with NO shoulder pain here
